Memory

Is your Computer still running slow after cleaning stuff up?
Here is something to look into.
Windows XP uses virtual memory to give you more memory than what is physically put in the machine.
Where can you find it?
Go to the Control Panel (Start, Control Panel)
Click System (Note look at the size of your Memory)
(Example: Mine is 448 MB of RAM)
Then click the Advanced Tab
Under Performance click Settings
Then click the advance tab
Then go to the bottom where it says Virtual Memory
Click change
The recommended minimum size is equivalent to 1.5 times the RAM on your computer, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size.
So for mine the Initial size will be 672MB and the Max will be 1344MB
Then click set
Then it will ask you to restart the computer.
If it does not ask to restart do it anyway.
When you log back in open up a program and see if the speed of it is faster opening.

For more information on this click Microsoft.
